Centre of christianity is jesus = human and god. Enlarges it from small jewish group to worldwide. Speaking well isn;t the same as being christian; have to have charity; cairtas=charity/love. You have to act to save your soul. Like stoics, people are equal, ethnicity doesn"t matter, everyone can be saved. Aquinas trumps everything else- you should obey your conscious. Aquinas - more representative; augustine has depressing view of humans. Christian god - immintant - involved, one god. If things happen it is because god wants it to happen. There is a divine plan - humans are a part of it. Goal of humans - go to good afterlife if they are saved. When you die your soul will be divided from body and will go to one of three places. Sin of pride - thinking you are equivalent/better than god; you don"t need god. We are not highest non-god being; god -> angels -> humans -> animals -> plants.
