Family units are loyal only to themselves. Violent - homeric state - physical inequality important. Period of irrationality - religion, not seeing things properly. Centralization under one sovereign - people learn to obey. Transition between traditional to modern lies on revolution. Civilization marked by a decline in violence and physical force. First modern to fully endorse political rights for women. Women fully capable of self development to highest level. Women not given chance to prove themselves. Upper class women have social responsibilities that interfere with her personal development.
