Left- verbal (control of language, reading, logical thought) Right- nonverbal (space perception, form perception, synthesis, emotion) Results form damage (stroke) to right hemisphere (parietal and temporal lobes) Almost unheard of with damage to left hemisphere. Drawing a flower- only would draw the right side of the flower. Only found in humans: lower animals have bilateral spatial representation, as humans evolved, the language centres (cid:862)(cid:272)ro(cid:449)ded(cid:863) out the spatial i(cid:374) left.
