Censor disguises wishes id thinks it"s wishes have been satisfied: hide in dreams id believes it is coming out. Not constrained by: reality (ego, morality (superego) guilt trip. But anxiety can be aroused (superego guilt trip: defense from ego get away content of dreams. Thus content is censored and disguised: latent: actual desire, manifest: laundered version (clean) Symbols where one thing stands for another symbols are not only in dreams though. Psychoanalytic: dreams are meaningful, symbols show repressed urges.
