● Do media promote ‘dominant ideology’ or an ‘anti authority ideology’? Do they provide
one ‘worldview’ (aka ideology) or ‘contradictory messages’?
● Media = sites of (dispute over) representations
● Not single text, but across media
● Scholars compare media rep’ns with ‘real world’
