Health and wellness are used interchangeably to refer to: a dynamic ever-changing process of trying to achieve one"s individual potential in each of the interrelated dimensions. Dimensions: physical, emotional, intellectual, interpersonal, spiritual, environmental. Note: dimensions interact continuously influencing and being influenced by one another. Qualities and behaviours associated with the dimensions of wellness. Also suggests that we should look at occupation. Symptoms and health complaints sign = physical/visible symptom = something perceived/felt. Some are under our control, others are not. Health is a never ending process and is dynamic, multidimensional, interacting and constant. We should be continually striving to be at better and optimal health. Primary - actions designed to stop health problems before they start: ie. immunizations/vaccinations. Secondary - interventions early in development of a health problem: enabling people to change behaviours to one that are more healthy, ie. health seminar to stop smoking.
