The 2 main sectors of the british invasion are into the beatles-type and the stones-type. These two divisions look at the extent which the bands were influenced by american blues. Rock n roll took the place of blues music as the major genre yet as american teens no longer were interested in muddy waters, british teens were mail ordering the records and attempting to play it. Canadian popular music industry was non-existent in the early 1960"s.
