Don"t go into too much detail on the brain generalization. Under the cortex is a collection of tissue called the limbic system: motivation, sexual drives, hunger, primitive motivations. Limbic system contains the thalamus: decides which impulse/though/emotional experience to go to the correct place, emotional switchboard in the body. Hypothalamus: below the thalamus, blood sugar measurement, saline concentration, sexual behaviors, motivated behavior. Amygdala: fear response, memory stores of sounds, survival value. Hippocampus: long term and short term memory, damage to hippocampus means short memory. No significant difference, may use the brain differently (tiny differences) Does gender matter with brain function or brain structure. One part of the hypothalamus responsible for sexual behavior is slight larger in males than in females. Corpus collasum some evidence suggests females is slightly thicker than males suggests women may be more likely to use both hemispheres compared to men. Often been reported than men loose more brain tissue faster and sooner than males.
