Best known for his writings on power, knowledge, and discourse. Best known for critical view on institutions, wrote a book on history of human sexuality. 1960"s his work limit of scientific discourse on objective truth-> get us to understand why there isnt such thing as an objective truth. Is created and perpetuated by those in power. Its always circulating in every culture, becomes very powerful cause we come to think of it as being real. Discourse created and perpetuated by those who have power. Individuals who have power, decide what we discuss, how we think about ourselvese tc. What we look like and how we should act etc. Truth, morality and meaning all created through discourses, focuses on production of power and relationship between knowledge and power.
