Document Summary

Parent cell no longer exists after it splits. Lots of development from conception to now. Cells dying off need to be replaced (tissue renewal) When there is damage (i. e. broken bone) need to repair and use new cells. Bacteria dna is circular therefor it happens quickly. A lot of communication involved in replication. Orgaization of our dna: dna is organized in units, chromosomes made up of chromatin (dna and associated proteins, associated proteins are histone an non-histone. Most of time dna is not super packed, not compact with h1 protein. In mitosis it will being to compact together, with h1 protein: need condensin protein to really get the dna packed ready for mitosis, makes it easy to move, and make sure its not damaged. Two alpha helix of dna is one of the sister chromatids, they are identical and known as sister chromatids. Each dna replicated is called a chromatid. Chromatids always occur in pairs called sister chromatids.
