Before one can even hope to proceed with a sense of clarity and logic, it is essential to know what informs our understanding of youth crime. Unfortunately, ideas about youth criminality tend to be fragmented, frequently distorted and typically bereft of both memory and imagination. This study seeks to provide a fertile framework for appreciating culture enclosures inherent in the preponderance of ontological presuppositions about youth criminality. Equally, it is incumbent upon all of us, as learners, to move beyond the easy practice of debunking or disparaging the orthodoxies of conventional texts. Thus, this journey begins with reflection about the ways in which hegemonic claims inhibit thinking, let alone, understanding. From antonio gramsci, we discover that the social , especially our social and concrete locations, contextualizes ideological commitments. In addition, the consciousness of our knowing selves is not simply an imposed social illusion glibly appropriated and manipulated reduced as well rehearsed recitals of manufactured mimicry.
