Lecture 17, the iliad books 19, 20, 21 in 17 & 18 we saw ajax and hector ght over the body of patroklos. Patroklus"s body is brought back to the camp, so that he can be mourned. Achilles addressees the assembly, and makes up with agamemnon: he says that he no longer cares about briseis, and that she was really not worth. Ghting over: achilles says that he will ght, and we see signs of his inhumane anger. Achilles killed them all, and patroklos told her to marry achilles. In the text its mentioned that the women grieve for the dead because its the public thing to do, but on the inside they actually grieve their killed husbands or families or loved ones. Achilles enters the battle: he is about to kill aeneas, but aeneas is saved because he is destined to go form.
