Document Summary

It is beyond the point of debate as the world"s climate has experiences a change. Averagely, the temperatures on the earth"s surface have risen by almost 1 degree fahrenheit over the last two centuries. The last 50 years exhibited the most notable changes most of which the activities of man are culpable, particularly the burning of fossil fuels. The arctic region being home to approximately 4 million people has borne the brunt of this global warming. Since, these natural forces are not expected to change in anyway, it is up to man to change his ways in order to mitigate the situation. The warming of the arctic is likely to have significant impacts on the vegetation as well as the animals. To begin with, there are three kinds of vegetation in the arctic region; the boreal forests, polar deserts and the tundra that lies in between these regions.
