She shot him in the back of his head. She told the police she didn"t mean to do this. Extrinsic evidence = evidence outside of the law. The expert was there to explain lavallee"s state of mind. The actus rea and mens rea was there. Lavallee"s mental state was not intact battered women"s syndrome.
