Toxicologists are charged with the responsibility for detecting and identifying the presence of drugs and poisons in body fluids, issues and organs. Toxicology is the study of toxins and poisons. Most widely abused drug in the western world and it is a legal drug. Toxicologists not only work in crime laboratories and medical examiners offices, but may also reach into hospital laboratories and health facilities to identify a drug overdoes or monitor the intake of drugs. A major branch of forensic toxicology deals with the measurement of alcohol in the body for matters that pertain to violations of criminal law. The most widely and heavily abused drug in the western world is alcohol. Therefore, when people drive there are alcohol levels in the blood. Important aspect: how is alcohol absorbed in the bloodstream, how is it transported in the bloodstream and how it is removed from the body. The breath and the urine also sweat as well.
