Life developed in the sea water protects life from uv. There is 10 million kinds of livings on earth only about 2 million species have been described. To make sense of these organisms we have categorized/ divide them in groups based of characteristics that are similar or different. Comparative morphology study of form/structure from both present day organisms and the fossil record (paleontology) Many species can be easily grouped by their similarities. Phylogeny refers to evolutionary relationship & lines of decent. Study and understanding of several & different branches of science contribute to our understanding of phylogeny and make it possible to trace the derivation of structures between groups of organisms.
