Legal limitations on the actions of the government officials. We are engaged in administrative law every day. Largely based on government regulations on social activities. Comprised of mainly two legal areas: common law, legislation/statutes. Both of these contribute to this branch of law. Most of these activities are regulated by legislation: ex. Immigration is part of public law, and regulated by government. Didn"t deal with all aspects of our lives. Both substantive aspects of the law, and procedural dimensions of the law. Common law making sure that it"s done in the framework of the law to protect you from the state: emphasis is more on when you"re engaged with the government, it"s to protect you. Anything we do in society, it"s under the microscope of the state. They are governing our behavior to make sure that the private dimensions of our lives don"t get out of hand. Scope of the modern state"s activities are varied and diverse.
