Psychology day five sensation and perception (chapter 4) Sensation: perception, vision, visual capture, form perception, polling. Tuesday and thursday : 1 hour in class no lecture. Worth 20 % of final grade: text, read chapters. Sensation: based on activity of the sense receptors, sense receptors; eyes, skin, ears, mouth taste, smell, vision, hearing and touch (we will spend more time on vision, how physical energy is transformed into neural impulses. Light = wavelengths --- high retina --- transformed into sight by the brain. Have to know about retina and all the different receptors: sensation is primarily bottom up processing.
