Code of ethics guides social workers as they act in good faith and with a genuine desire to make sound judgements. Consistent with the international federation of social workers (ifsw), international declaration of ethical principles of social work(1994,2004), which requires members of the casw to uphold the values and principles established by both casw and ifsw. Each province/ territory in canada is responsible for regulating the professional conduct of social workers to ensure the protection of the public. Code of ethics doesn"t provide set of rules that describe how social workers should act in all situations.
