Anatomically modern homo sapiens evolved from africa. First leave ~110 kya, everyone living outside of africa today descended from homo sapiens that left later than 50 kya (based on dna) Living in sub-saharan africa from 200k to 110k when we begin leaving africa. Our ancestors that left africa before 50 kya may have been killed off by the toba supervolcano 74 kya, because we see a population bottle neck both neanderthals and our ancestors around that time. Don"t get into europe until 35 kya. Much more robust, brow ridge, no occipital bun but well developed region, teeth as tools, etc. High cranial vault and short length of cranium. Differ from neanderthals: no midface prognathism, cheekbone receding. Chin from mandible shows it is not prior to anatomically modern humans (gracility of mandibles are so gracile that the bottom of the mandible looks more robust)
