Macronutrient- the nutrients that provide your body with energy. Nucleic acids- not a significant source of energy for cells. Vitamins- organic compounds that help regulate metabolism. Vitamins a, d, e, k are fat soluble. Minerals- regulate reactions, balance fluids, and make up your body structures. Water- a very unique compound with unusual properties essential for sustaining life. Atom- the smallest unit of an element that still retains the characteristics of the element.
