Both see the process of writing law different than enforcing the law and dealing with crime. We don"t want legislates arresting people and don"t want cops writing laws. Any violation of a law results in equal perusal. The pursual process starts once the law is violated. Don"t want government to have unlimited power. Finality - sentence to prison and done, move on. Find cases that shouldn"t be there: innocent, too severe charge, etc. Not trying to speed up decisions because we"re concerned with individual rights. Protect the individual rights that people have.
