Rarely some people can be in there for less time: there are contact visitations, run by warden, superintendent, or administrator. These people are usually appointed by the governor or government official: good time, parole, early release is possible, work programs are popular, when they are available. 52-53% have not yet been convicted of anything yet: penial institution. Fee system: system where jails are paid by the day an inmate is in the facility. How do jails deal with overcrowding: new generation jails. Helps deal with overcrowding because more cells can be fit. Maximizes the amount of interaction between officers and inmates. This helps the inmates rehabilitate : regionalization jails. Not very popular yet, but beginning to get that way. What are other ways to deal with overcrowding. Bail: allows people to leave before the trial starts, pay a certain amount to make sure that you will return to court and get it back when you do.
