Exercise can help in disease rehabilitation because it strengthens muscles, lowers glucose levels, and lowers blood pressure. Exercise increases quality of life because you can enjoy life without getting tired. Hypokinetic diseases are chronic diseases (such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity) that are caused by not having enough physical activity. Hypokinetic diseases can lead to high blood glucose, high blood pressure, and a sedentary lifestyle, which can induce sarcopenia: sarcopenia: loss of muscle tissue as a natural part of the aging process. Coronary heart disease: leads to heart attacks and atherosclerosis. Peripheral vascular disease: narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs. Congestive heart failure: heart weakness that leads to an excess of fluid in the lungs and other parts of the chest. Stronger & bigger heart to pump more blood.
