These go to neural impulses then into brain perception. Sensory receptors: specialized cells that respond to specific features of the environment ex eyes= light wavelengths. Transduction: process of converting energy from the environment into neural impulses. Psychophysics: examines the relationships between the properties of physical stimuli out in the world and our psychological responses to them. Absolute threshold: absolute threshold is measured at the point when a person is able to detect a sensation 50% of the time. Difference threshold: just noticeable difference (jnd) smallest amount of change in sensation you can detect.
