Sexuality resides in four areas : desire (problem for 80% of couples) Couples who struggle with sex: issues of desire. Dirty bird theory: theory that you need to do the things that need to be done in the house to not poop in the nest and show that you are a team. What poisons desire: traumatic past brings in veto power, can"t veto sexual acts, best friend marriage, arousal, orgasm, sense of satisfaction. Female sexual desire : often women will begin in gear 0 lack of want, receptive to touch. Could transition to desire: can then make decision to pursue eroticism, sexuality is an intimate, interactive process. Male sexual desire : desire tied to automatic erections, under 25 yeas - sexual response is desirous. Not need partner cues for arousal: learned way of being sexual - autonomous. Aging sexual desire : males arousal cycle similar to women after age 40, causes couple to work together.
