Variety of ways to use the discovery table: Substances for use in the discovery table: consider. For most materials: water wheel, containers: consider shape, size, color, measuring cups and spoons, scoops, shovels, funnels, sifters, buckets, tongs consider. Beans: size and shape, color (kidney, mixed, coffee, soy) For formable materials: potato masher, molds: letters, shapes, animals, rolling pin, cookie cutter: consider shape, size and color, garlic press, craft sticks, tongue depressors. For use with liquids: sponges, cloths, funnels, basters, tubes, siphon, water pump, cork, dolls, dishes, bar soap, bubble wands, hand beater, boats, ribbon. If the area allows, a dish drainer is appropriate for storing and / or allowing items to dry. Resource books: sift and shout, sand and play activities for children ages 1-6.
