Document Summary

Humans were in survival mode: existing rather than being in a civilization. Neolithic revolution occurred 10,000 years ago: discovery of agriculture. Discovery of containing and maintaining a food source. Meaning life becomes stable (food source, home, people around you) To survive, they had to know how to do everything but now they can just specialize in one area (ex: food, transportation, water, medicine, building, fertilizer, etc. ) There are enough people producing food now for everybody. These new generations work to improve things from learning from previous generations. Diseases get bigger (hits more people at once) Battles get larger (more people specialize in weapons) Very hot and difficult to get from one place to another. City states were created: cities that were their own independent state (a nation) and government, oblong chocolate chip cookie of history (picture he drew) Separated by rivers: you need the fresh water supply to survive, tigris and euphrates are the two main rivers.
