Or latifundia- a huge farm owned by a single person or single family. Nobody could own more than 1000 acres of land. Brothers tell senate that the farms need to be broken up. Senate own latifundia: as a result, se(cid:374)ate kills the gra(cid:272)(cid:272)hus" (cid:271)rothers. 3 men try to get control of the situation before it gets completely out of hand. Tries to make the best of the situation: 59 bc they send julius caesar to gaul. (cid:862)letters fro(cid:373) gaul(cid:863: he wrote letters back from gaul. Adventurous, funny, interesting writing: 53 bc. Pompey and crassus are worried because he is now more popular. Jc (cid:862)re(cid:272)alled(cid:863: they called him back to rome, he thinks that he will be assassinated when he returns. Gets farms and other things back to normal: senate hates him.
