About 40 years ago, the average u. s. company had around 20% of its assets in intangible assets and intellectual property. Now, these u. s. companies have about 80% in intangible assets and intellectual property. This means that almost all of the companies in america are somehow dealing with intellectual property on a daily basis. Today, intellectual property are these company"s biggest asset. Almost everyone you ask will know something about property on a general basis. For example, if you own a home or an apartment, you know something about a legitimate property and chances are, you probably know about personal property as well. Personal property is the things you have in your house or apartment that represent tangible things.
