Studies on effects of day care research are often very dif cult to conduct. Parents are often reluctant to allow kids to participate. High quality day care must be made more affordable. Poor need it, but poor can"t afford it. Approximately annual cost of day care per child in indiana is ,000. No standards for health, safety, or education. 2014: 30% of all households were single-parent households. Tend to work longer hours than typical married parent. Tend to live farther away from their own parents than married parents. Baruch"s 10 research-based steps of advice for single parents. Assure kids that they aren"t responsible for breakup. Don"t try to be both mom & dad. Don"t encourage kids to hope for reconciliation. Reassure kids that they"ll continue to be loved & cared for.
