Offer the same kinds of opportunities to each other job-wise. Sociology is implemented in a lot of career paths. Emphasis on mind, individual in an analytic context = psychology. Emphasis on large social structures, processes that explain how the world works. Applied nature of work to solve social problems = social work. Understand crime & deviance, working to understand criminal justice system = criminal justice. Ability to understand the world around you. Sociology: study of the world that human beings create. Following the rules & playing the game starts you off as a participant in the creation & re-creation of the social world. Ex: playing with pink toys if you"re a girl, blue if you"re a boy. Ex: taking a toy truck away from a girl or laughing at a boy that acts too feminine. Maintained by following the rules, doing the right things, & putting someone back in their place if they step out of line.
