On september 22, 2017, i watched the production damn yankees put on by the ball state. University theater and performed at the university theater on campus. It was opening night for the play so the audience was packed. Before this viewing of the production i had never hear or seen damn yankees before so i was very eager to view the production. Overall, i was pleased with the performance and look forward to seeing other production done by the ball state. The central purpose of the play, other than entertaining its audience through comedy, was to answer the question of how we value the different aspects of our lives. This central purpose was clearly conveyed throughout the play. Act one begins with joe boyd and his wife, meg, in their living room. Joe is desperately rooting on his team, the senators, while meg is knitting. Meg shows annoyance by responding to joe"s cheers with snide remarks.
