Caste system becomes hereditary and defines social orders/social strata: brahmin: priestly, top of society, kshatriya: ruling class, politicians, vaishya: merchant, trading, shudra: manual laborers (includes artists and sculptors) Rasa: describe mode of reception/way of reacting to a work of art: ni-rasa: no rasa, a failure, rasvat: appropriate channeling rasa on a viewer (nine different types)
