Adult counterparts- disorders that have adult forms as well (i. e. depression) Begin in birth/childhood+persist (intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder) What is abnormal behavior? not just atypical, but harmful- developmentally inappropriate. Must look at cultural norms, developmental norms, gender norms, role of adults, changing views of abnormality, situational norms (running and jumping is okay on the playground, but not in class)
