Idea of dynamism: its ability to change/adapt with society: allowed country to grow. 2. allowed government to grow: allowed constitution to be changed (amending) First 10 bill of rights -> 17 times constitution was amended (total =27) Bill of rights -> listing of people"s rights. Most of our laws based on compromise. Getting constitution approved and making it the law of the land. Needed to be approved by states -> constitutional convention. 1987: 13 states (9 out of 13 states had to vote in favor of constitution for it to take effect in all. Federalist and antifederalist (lots of reasons to be against constitution) Group in favor of constitution ( federalist) Antifederalists against constitution being ratified (weren"t well coordinated/ funded) Biggest unison group of anti federalists : those that believed constitution lacked explicit set of guaranteed rights = bill of rights. Feared that then they"d only have those rights. Feared government given too much power-> abuse power.
