Document Summary
Irs uses integrated retrieval data system (recordation/computer system) idrs- records tp transactions for a specific type of tax and specific tax period. If referred to audit, there will be a t-action code that corresponds. Example: 150: assessment and processing original t- return. Repping someone before irs, ask for transcript. Published doc- doc 6209 that translates all codes irs uses. What you would ask for is a plain english transcript helpful during collection bc you use this to determine if they have met the prereqs of making a proper assessment, dates correct. Long number known as document locator #- gives info on when transaction occurred, where occurred, and location (not on test) No questions on idrs transcript!!! (in real world, used for verification) You just have to know it"s there if you practice before the irs. Transcript of account helps verify what happened on account.
