The divided society: migration to the suburbs does not include blacks, blacks not given loans or allowed to buy houses, etc. People refuse to do business with non-whites. Scotus decisions don"t change much of anything. New houses/gentrification (malls, etc. : displacing people who had been living in these areas, 7 million whites moving to suburbs, shift in demographics. Major social problems solved: despite court decisions, separate but equal still the narrative, higher standards of living, but may not always be like the ads. Eisenhower (ike) famous wwii hero/leader we like ike! . Ike could have run on either ticket (he was a moderate) -- both parties told him they"d support him if he ran: runs on republican ticket to oust other candidate who had a platform of isolation.
