Part of what keeps people searching is that there is a search. What are things that people do to reach the divine: prayer conversation and connection, reading divine texts, fellowship and communion or, solitude, celibacy, sufferings (can drive people away from the divine, nature, worship. Heritage: inheritance to receive from someone you are in relationship with. There is an origin to the inheritance that implies perpetuity. Alexander the great and hellenization (332 bce) Supreme being, or the good, ruled the world, not chance (not personal) Immortality of the soul (abiding truth above physical world) Discarding of plato"s distinction between ideas and other phenomena; prime mover who is unmoved (hebrews 13:8) Divine spark (gen 1:26-27: there is a piece of god in every person, humans were created in the image of god. All men have god inside of them. There is a sense of equality in all people. Stations of life are incidental and don"t mean anything.
