Comedy of ideas: i. e. stand up, focused on thought (like aristotle"s thought, can be philosophical, political or controversial. Comedy of manners: major character or characters at odds with social expectations (making fun of specific types of people, politically incorrect . Romantic comedy: seeks sympathy of well-being in the end. May have serious action but happy ending or mixed tone throughout.
