You can"t identify what sucks unless you have something concrete to point your finger at. Measure social solidarity by the laws that"s developed. Reduce society to components and add them and understand society. You need to look at society first and understand it so that you can understand crime as a whole because crime is a deviation from society. Can"t understand punishment by looking at crime and criminals, you have to look punishment in its own category. Punishment is explained by other ideas such as ideological and economical factors. Law keeps the dominant group interest at heart.
