Supplementarity to define something by their difference. No matter what we do, we are reinforcing the dominant binary. We need certain definitions to reinforce the institution of marriage. Heteronormativity dominant hegemonic construction, but it"s not absolute. Make connections between readings: constructing identities against the hegemonic model, is not only difficult because of stigma and marginalization, but it"s also difficult to break down the supplementarity. Polyamory is framed not as something one does (not framed as a sexual practice per say: polyamory is framed as a sexual orientation an identity. Identifying as non-monogamous highlighting the dominant monogamy: not framing their identity as in contrast to the dominant, centralized identity, de-centering monogamy through this naming and language, more inclusive. What new language was created to describe relationships: primary vs. secondary, disrupting and reinforcing supplementarity, poly-fidelity, triads and quads, metamour partner"s partners, a bond is formed with one"s partners, and partner"s partners.
