Everything you do, whether you realize or not, is a social fact. Social facts can make up social phenomenon, and social facts can be affected by social issues and social forces. The way labor is injustice or immoral, could lead to unfair distribution of wealth which could lead to social problems. Different societies have different forms of solidarity based on different economic systems. High degree of solidarity means a better functioning society. In pre-modern society (agricultural), similarity is what bonds you to each other ( you"re all farmers) sameness. Simple class system based on land ownership. Social integration at expense of individual development (you won"t feel bonded if you have different interests, want to develop personally) In modern, industrial society, this shifts, and social integration happens through organic solidarity. Everyone"s not a farmer differences bond one another. Industrialization expand jobs, cities, and allow for different roles in society,, allowing us to be more interdependent on each other.
