Faith and reason: what is belief , it is an attitude toward a proposition or person. Proposition: god exists, i am sitting right now: propositional belief - belief that a proposition is true. Known as the belief that : personal belief - belief in a person (trust/commitment) * examples i believe that [god exists] or i believe in [bob] . God doesn"t care that you believe he exists but that you believe in him. Mix of prop and personal: there are all sorts of connections between the propositional and personal, you must believe that god exists in order to believe in him.
