1 Introduction:
Syeda Saleha Raza, Bachelors in Computer Science from Karachi University,Masters
from Szabist,Phd from Iba,shared some of her interesting experiences of com-
puter science.Syeda Saleha started her career by working on cognitive robotics
in a software house. Now,she works as an faculty member at Habib University.
Her accumulated experience and knowledge in computer science are formidable.
In this session,Saleha shares with the students about what is artificial intelli-
gence,Robocop and how robots work.
2 Artifical Intelligence:
As stated in Wikipedia ”Artificial intelligence (AI, also machine intelligence,
MI) is intelligence exhibited by machines, rather than humans or other animals
(natural intelligence, NI). Artificial intelligence is not all about robots it can be
cut down as follows
1. To solve a problem
2. To take decisions
3. To learn from experience
4. To act as humans
All these characteristics cannot necessary be present at the same time to
make system intelligent.
3 Robocup:
Robocup is a worldcup of football but robots play in this game rather than
human beings. The robots are unlike humans and they do thing to do teamwork
and make strategies.There are different leagues and these are formed to face
different challenges.For example,the humanoid league and the 3D simulation
league. Soccer was played between robots because it was popular sport and it
was interesting,fun and entertainment was provided to the audience.Adversity
was present in a dynamic environment.For example, 15 mili second is taken by
a robot to make a decision.
