Racial construction of asian american men and women. With gender, they interact w/ members of different genders in our families, in work situations, in social situations, in households. Because humanity is divided roughly into 2 similar groups, there is maximum potential for interaction. Gender equality and gender differences are enshrined in every culture. Different views in gender come from cultures and other ideas, men and women are different and have different characteristics. Boys and girls are treated differently, put in different groups, play w/ different games, disciplined and taught different things. This has been so deeply ingrained in us that when we look at someone we also look at their gender identities. People who have lost their sight for a long time and then recovered their sight, these people cannot identify people by looking at them whether they are men or women. People encounter in different contexts, men have more prestigious roles generally.
