Applied anthropology the use of anthropology to improve the human condition and solve problems. The definition of problem differs from culture to culture: ex. In india after a couple would get married the woman would be treated to a special feast of raw sheep brain. This was a custom to the native people but then the women started to have neurological problems, spasms, and epileptic like symptoms and they would die. Around one third of the women died within the first year of being married. Anthropologists studies the problem and found that the sheep had a newer disease composed of parasites. Because the women were consuming the brain raw the parasites were transferred straight into the women"s bodies and into their own brain causing the deaths.
