Megaliths huge stones (4800-1200bc: all over europe, malta, southern italy, etc, menhir standing stones (artificial) Carnac, france rows that date back to 500+kya which took generations. Villages (all over area & associated w/ barrows) Joints to fit together: mortice (hole, tenon (bump, lintel (top part that lays over two standing stones) There had to have been use by the people. Important to people (too difficult to have been built if it wasn"t) Druids celtic religion: mistletoe still used today at christmas, arch. sites associated w/ them. Bog bodies: associated w/ stone monuments. Time periods don"t match: druids today not really druids; made-up in 19th cent. Not sure what it is or why they built it. Astronomical significance: solstices, heel stone lines up to center of stonehenge. Top of heel stone lines up w/ horizon according to average height of neolithic people (sunrise on summer solstice)
