You make a new years resolution to train for a marathon, you start joining around the bock and soon are running almost every day. Muscles of facial expression are very important for communication. We are bipedal and therefore we need to keep our head up; muscles that keep our he"d up, our chest up and so on are axial muscles. We have two big muscles on our frontal bones: frontalis muscles. These muscles allow us to raise our eyebrows when we are surprised. Orbicularis oculi is the muscle around the eye. Orbicularis oris is the muscle around our mouth. Depressor anguli oris is the muscle that helps you smile and frown (mouth up and down) Masseter muscle comes down the corner of the jaw/mandible. Allows us to close our jaw, bringing it closer to the base. Zygomaticus major, allows us to pull us the corners of our mouth.
