Game: a competitive activity with skills, chance, or endurance on 2 or more persons who play by the rules. Game theory: branch of mathematics that studies multiplayer skills and chance. Attempts to understand individual strategies: provides interesting insights into behavior, rational player always maximize his own profit and never cooperates, no matter what your partner does, you should defect, defect is the only rational strategy. Iterated prisoner"s dilemma: decisions are not made only once. Decisions are made over and over again in real life. Strategies for the iterated prisoner"s dilemma (ipd: angel = always cooperate, golden rule, devil = always defect. Do it to the other guy before he does it to you : trickster = cooperate the first time, thereafter defect, random = flip a coin each time.
